Established in Loughborough in 2006, CommAgility is a world-leading developer of technology products for the latest 4G and 5G mobile phone networks, mobile internet and other applications.
Its embedded signal processing and radio modules use digital signal processing (DSP), field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and radio frequency (RF) technologies. CommAgility’s customers around the world integrate the company’s modules into high performance test equipment, specialised radio and intelligence systems, R&D demonstrators, and trial systems.
The company’s client base is truly global, with customers in over 15 countries including the USA, China, South Korea, India, France and Israel. This was recognised in 2013, when CommAgility received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its strength in international trade.
CommAgility has been supported by the University’s Innovation Centre and is based in Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park. It currently has a staff of 20, three of whom are Loughborough graduates, with a fourth joining the team in 2015, after a successful internship.
The company sponsors an annual Department of Computer Science Prize – awarded for the best wireless communications project by an MSc student.
CommAgility was recognised as the sixth fastest-growing technology company in the UK by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50.
The company was again listed in the Fast 50, and won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its success in overseas markets – export sales grew by 51% during 2010-12.
