Innovative award-winning design offers a safe and sustainable way to save lives

  • Asap Watercrafts

Asap is a solar-powered rescue craft which has been tested and approved by some of the best beach lifeguards in the world.

Ross started work on Asap as part of his final year project, and joined the Studio in 2011 to access the facilities, financial support and mentoring needed to develop a prototype.

In 2013, Ross was selected to take part in BBC3’s Be Your Own Boss hosted by Richard Reed – founder of Innocent Smoothies. During filming, Reed introduced Ross to Sir Richard Branson who has since described Asap as “a fantastic invention” and made Ross a fantastic offer.

In January 2014, Virgin flew Ross to Australia. He travelled 5,200km along the coast of Australia to test Asap with more than 100 of the world’s best lifeguards.

Interest in Asap has grown significantly as a result, and Ross is now busy developing his invention to manufacture level.

Asap will be helping to save lives on beaches worldwide very soon.
