Moving industry forward with Advanced Manufacturing

Advanced Manufacturing includes all aspects of the manufacturing process from design through to production. The UK needs innovative processes such as Advanced Manufacturing to enable our industries to be progressive and competitive in the global marketplace.

Loughborough has established research strengths in a broad range of Advanced Manufacturing research areas. Two of these areas: Regenerative Medicine and Innovative Electronics Manufacturing have secured funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for individual research centres. Other Advanced Manufacturing research currently funded within the IMCRC includes:

Manufacturing and a balanced economy

Against the backdrop of our current economic landscape there is widespread recognition that manufacturing has a crucial role to play in building a more balanced, resilient economy. This will require established manufacturing industries to become more competitive, in addition to addressing environmental and sustainability requirements.
