IMCRC Researchers June Seminar - Summary

IMCRC Researcher Abeer Pharaon kindly agreed to provide some feedback: "I thought it was very useful to gain an insight from someone who has been through a PhD and is successful in their career. I was particularly interested in the way Paul described the viva and interviews, obviously these are stressful to many if not all PhD students. Understanding and gaining a little more knowledge about what is to come will really help."

July meeting

Mike Vasquez and Steve Harre-Young will be sharing experiences of utilising IMCRC funding to support their PhD activities. James Bishop (newly appointed IMCRC Research Manager) will update colleagues on funds available to support Researchers.

- Mike spent the winter in the USA at Burton Snowboards on an IMCRC funded industrial placement.

- Steve Harre-Young has recently returned from New York, a joint conference-research trip, funded through the IMCRC Overseas Study scheme
