Prof Martin Goosey, Industrial Director of the UK's Innovative Electronics Manufacturing Research Centre (IeMRC) provided a very valuable and personal insight into industrial collaboration in research. The IMCRC and the Researchers Committee would like to express their sincere thanks to Martin for such an open and honest (real world view) of working with industry.

Scott Doak is Director of the Loughborough Materials Characterization Centre (LMCC). The LMCC was officially opened in May 2000 and is the result of amalgamating four entities, the Institute of Surface Science and Technology (ISST), Electron and Optical Microscopy Unit, X-Ray Diffraction Unit and the Advanced Thermal Analysis Unit. The Centre is now the focus of specialist facilities available for materials analysis. Scott will be presenting on the Centre, its expertise and its facilities that are available.
