School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences

Undergraduate study

Attendance at a Visit Day is by invitation only. If you have applied through UCAS, you will automatically get an invitation to attend a Visit Day. This visit is your opportunity to experience the campus if you have not already joined us for an Open Day. It is also an opportunity to see department facilities, meet teaching staff, talk to current students, ask questions, and get more in-depth information about the course for which you have applied.

This year we are running the following visit days:

General Advice

As the Visit Day will involve tours of our School facilities and the University campus, we recommend you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Although light refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits) will be available, you may wish to try out some of the various food and drink outlets on campus, including our Students' Union shop, should you require anything else.

Finding Your Way Around

Hopefully you will find the information on this page sufficient to help you arrive at the right place on time! There will be signage around campus to direct you to the correct venue and staff and students will be only to happy to direct you if you get lost.

You can also view our campus map online. Better still, why not download the myLboro app to your tablet or smartphone, giving you instant access to the campus map, bus timetables and other useful Loughborough University info? Get it here.

Travelling To and From Loughborough By Rail

Rail travellers - will arrive at Loughborough Central Station, approximately 3 miles from the campus.

Taxi fares will be charged on a metered basis (approx £6-£7).

From the station you can also catch the University/Town/Station Kinchbus service ("Sprint").  This service operates every 15 mins. The fare is £2.00 (at time of writing). For our Visit Days in the James France building please alight at the "Computer Studies" stop and follow the signage to your venue. (Ask our students or the bus driver, if unsure!)

Travelling To and From Loughborough By Coach

Coach travellers - will arrive at Loughborough in The Rushes or Baxter Gate in the centre of town.

From The Rushes stop you can catch the Kinchbus Sprint service to the University. See above for the relevant bus stops on campus.

Travelling To and From Loughborough By Car

Car travellers - are advised to take one of the following routes

(if you are using a SatNav, the post code is LE11 3AJ):

M1: Junction 23 on to the A512 to Loughborough, approx 2 miles to 1st roundabout, turn right, at the next roundabout go straight-over into Holywell Park for car parking.

A6 from North and South: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.

A60 from Nottingham, or A511 from Leicester or Burton: follow signs for Loughborough, then University and/or Nanpantan.

Please note: car parking is limited on campus and availability can vary.

In the first instance please report to the Gatehouse at HOLYWELL PARK, where you will be given instructions regarding parking in Holywell or Car Park 1.

On a particularly busy visit day, you may be directed to alternative parking. The Gatehouse at Holywell Park will give you further instructions if this is necessary.

For Saturday events, where parking is more widely available, please tell the marshals which venue you are going to and they can direct you to appropriate parking.

Help When You Need It

There will be a large team of our trained student ambassadors working at the events. They will have a range of roles on the day including directions and parking, welcoming, tours, registration etc. If you need assistance on the day these ambassadors can be identified by their purple "Team Loughborough" t-shirts. School staff and members of the Events Team will also be in attendance at the events to assist.
