In July of 2004 the Centre for Olympic Studies and Research was established, managed jointly by the Institute and the Sociology of Sport Group, and in partnership with the British Olympic Foundation.
The Institute's work under this theme has now been transferred to the Centre for Olympic Studies and Research.
