An Evaluation of Sport for All Activity in Asia and Oceania

Following the review and evaluation of Sport for All activity in Europe (which focused on the role of European National Olympic Committees), COS&R has now been commissioned by the IOC to undertake a similar review and evaluation in another two continents: Asia and Oceania. See more

Sport, Muslim Identities and Cultures in the UK: Case studies of Leicester and Birmingham

In its bid to stage the 2012 Olympics, London made great play of its multicultural makeup as a context for welcoming the world’s athletes. The communities in East London certainly reflect cultural diversity. This project is thus a part of a wider research programme aimed at exploring the links between ethno-religious groups, ways of life and Western sport. Dr. Mahfoud Amara and Professor Ian Henry from COS&R undertake this study with research grant from the British Academy. See more

Human Capital Legacy Project

This project is being undertaken by a research team from COS&R and partners in cooperation with the Games Management Section of the IOC. The aim of the project is the development of an evaluation of the contribution of Olympic Games Organising Committees (OCOGs) to the development of human capital in the field of sport management and event management at local, national and international levels.
