Sion obtained his BSc in Sports Science (Physiology) in 2010 before going on to undertake an MSc in Sports Physiology in 2011 at Liverpool John Moores University. Sion joined Loughborough University as a doctoral researcher in Nutrition and Metabolism in 2013 following 2 years working in secondary education.
Metabolic alterations to changes in energy balance
Sion's primary research interests concern the impact of acute and chronic increases in energy balance on various facets of metabolism. In particular the influence of short-term high-fat overfeeding on insulin sensitivity and protein signaling and synthesis.
