Nurhidayah studied Mathematics and Education during her first degree and completed an MSc in Applied Mathematics in 2006. She became interested in Biomechanics when she did her MSc research project. For that reason she decided to pursue her PhD in Biomechanics. She has 3 years of experience as a young lecturer in Universiti Malaysia Perlis before continuing her studies.
Computer Simulation Model of Throwing Activities
Nurhidayah developed a 3D computer simulation model in order to understand the mechanics and coordination strategies of throwing activities. At present the model is applied to baseball pitching. The model has potential to be used to understand the mechanics of other throwing activities such as in javelin, cricket and tennis.
