Lucia completed her BSc in Biotechnology at the University of Ferrara (Italy) and her MSc in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Trieste (Italy). During her academic path she worked mainly on molecular biology and tissue engineering. Before starting her PhD she spent the final period of her MSc working at the Network of Excellence for Functional Biomaterials, Galway, (Ireland). There, she gathered experience in scaffolds preparation and characterisation. During the first year of the CDT program in Regenerative Medicine at Loughborough University, Lucia took part in three small projects in partnership with the University of Nottingham and Keele University. Lucia’s main research interests are tissue engineering, stem cells and disease modelling.
