Asya completed her BSc in Fitness and Health in 2012, prior to undertaking an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Loughborough University – graduating with merit. Upon completion of her masters, she spent some time volunteering and working in different fields of sports science, including working with student athletes, and teaching secondary school workshops. Asya worked as a technician in Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University for a year, with a heavy focus on teaching, before starting her PhD with Dr Lewis James, Dr Gemma Witcomb, and Dr David Stensel.

Asya also works with the Leicester Diabetes Centre as a ‘Let’s Prevent Diabetes’ educator, and is involved in teaching on second and third year Exercise Physiology and Body Composition modules. 

Project Title: Eating Behavior and Dietary and Exercise Interventions on Recreationally Active individuals.

Project Summary: Asya’s primary research interests concern the eating behavior, and the role of exercise on these behaviors and how they influence appetite.
