School ranks Top 3 in the latest Times Good University Guide
Loughborough University has maintained its position as one of the country’s leading higher education institutions, holding onto its 13th place out of 123 UK universities in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016. And the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences also rose two places to rank number 2 in the UK for Sport Science.
The guide ranks universities on eight key criteria – student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, services and facilities spend, and drop-out rates.
Loughborough continues to be in the top 15 of all three national university league tables, after an 11th place ranking in both the Complete University Guide and Guardian University Guide earlier this year. It also remains the East Midlands’ top university.
The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences enjoys an international reputation as one of the country's leading centres of excellence in the field of sport science - a reputation cemented by its Top Three placing in the prestigious Times league table.
Loughborough’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison, is delighted that the University has maintained its strong position. He added: “We are incredibly proud of the unique environment we have created at Loughborough. Working in partnership with our Students’ Union we provide our students with not only the best educational experience but also an amazing life experience, giving them all the skills they need to be the very best they can be."
Today, it was also announced that Loughborough University has come out on top in the Lloyds Bank Student Life Survey for the second year running.
