SSEHS student Ben Kelly among the winners at Loughborough enterprise awards

School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences PhD student Ben Kelly was among the winners at Think BIG! night - Loughborough University's annual celebration of student and graduate enterprise.

Ben took home the Consultancy/Service Award for Kelly Medical, which will provide bespoke exercise rehabilitation packages for those living with and recovering from chronic diseases.

Earlier in the year, Kelly Medical won the Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award.  The service aims to offer a flexible system which gives sufferers of chronic conditions such as cardiac disease and diabetes a chance to complete their health rehabilitation in a time efficient and completely personalised manner.  The business takes advantage of technology that enables a person's genetics to identify the most suitable rehab interventions.

Ben was just one of those recognised at the awards ceremony, which was held on Wednesday 25th June.  Other winning business ideas included stackable doughnut-shaped cushions, a clothes comparison website, and a design house producing innovative pet products.

The University’s Pro Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, Professor Steve Rothberg said: “Think BIG! Night is a great opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our enterprising students and graduates. Congratulations to all our finalists.’’

The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences wishes to congratulate Ben on his continued success.
