Guy Martin's "Speed" highlights Loughborough's sport science expertise
Motorcycle rider Guy Martin dropped into Loughborough University as part of his preparation for a record-breaking attempt.
Isle of Man TT racer Martin was seen swapping his motorcyle for pedal power in the Channel 4 programme "Speed". To try and break the British record for outright speed on a bicycle, Martin sought the expertise of Loughborough's sport scientists, undergoing fitness training with Rhona Pearce and Sarah Moseley of the Sports Development Centre.
The show highlighted Loughborough's contribution to the training of Olympic athletes such as Mo Farrah and Victoria Pendleton.
If you missed it, you can still currently catch Martin using Loughborough's excellent training facilities (and find out if his record attempt was successful) on the 4oD site here.
