Towards a Cultural Strategy for Working with Refugees and Persons Seeking Asylum in the East Midlands
Art in Mind has now released their first executive summary (PDF - 2MB)that highlights the research and evaluation gathered for the Art in Mind programme over the last two years, please find a copy attached. The report highlights the wealth of activities that have been achieved over the last two years, the core areas being Arts on Prescription, Education, Community Development and Research and Evaluation. Art in Mind is still very active and has been successful in setting up several constituted groups, thereby supporting the ongoing sustainability of Arts and Health. There is an active Steering Group attached to the programme that is setting up an action plan to continue with exciting and innovative work, working with a wide range of partners both city-wide and nationally. Art in Mind is committed to the development of research and evaluation in partnership with Nottingham University regarding the Arts in Health in the East Midlands. Long may all this exciting work in the Arts and Health continue !!!

The Economics of Migration, a new TUC report which argues that migrant workers are not responsible for unemployment or low pay and are not a drain on the welfare state. The policy response to migration should be to provide extra training for low-skilled workers and to enforce employment standards, such as the minimum wage.
