The Tracey School Members group is formed of staff and post graduate students who's practice is contextualised through drawing. The group offers the opportunity for members to develop research initiatives independently or collectively, but with the support of colleagues, or in the case of postgraduate students, peers or mentors.
Past projects and events coordinated and contributed to by Tracey school members include Triptych Papers: Models for Research based Practice and lectures by David Shrigley and Guardian cartoonist Steve Bell (hyperlink to both names). Currently Tracey School Members are involved in presenting work at the 2012 DRN conference and an international, web centred and collaborative drawing research project, …6767…, with Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore.
Through collaborative projects and events, most available as podcasts we aim to provide a resource that focuses upon understanding, articulating and promoting contemporary drawing practice that contributes to knowledge of the act of drawing, through outcomes of original and international significance.
The Tracey School Members group aims to provide, promote and support:
- an active programme of individual and group research outcomes in the UK and overseas
- involvement in collaborative publishing projects, including TRACEY : the online journal of drawing and visualization research
- on-going collaborative joint projects with other research partners, individuals and institutions that examine research methodologies around drawing.
Applications from students wishing to study the discipline of drawing as a core activity of their research interest at MPhil and PhD level are welcomed
