Learning a language
Many of our partner universities are able to teach the programmes offered to exchange students in English. However, where this is not the case you need to have sufficient proficiency in the language of your host country.
Loughborough University provides opportunities for students to learn new languages through the University-Wide Languages Programme, either as an optional module as part of their degree programme or by taking extra-curricular language classes (for which a fee is payable). For more information about studying languages, visit www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/eu/studying/languages/
You can continue your language study during your year abroad and benefit from being taught by native speakers of your chosen language.
Can I combine study abroad with work experience?
Yes, you can, subject to the approval of your home institution and agreement of your host institution.
For more detailed information about studying and working abroad, please visit the British Council.
