What is your name, degree and country of origin?

My name’s Alex, I’m studying a Masters in Marketing and Management and I’m from the UK.

Why did you choose your course at Loughborough University?

I chose my course mainly because I wanted to broaden my studies a bit further and develop my CV a bit more. I started off studying a BSc in Sports Science and Management, I did that here at Loughborough University so I did my first 3 years and then I wanted to do an extra year to give myself a bit more scope on my cv.

What has been the highlight of the programme so far?

The highlight of the programme so far for me would be the chance to be a bit more creative, so like I said before, it was very much more science based at undergraduate and what we’re doing now is a lot more hands on. I think it relates a bit more to realistic situations in employment. So I’m hoping the chance to be creative will definitely benefit me in the future.

What has been your favourite module?

My favourite module so far has been Marketing and Management, which is my course anyway. I really enjoy it because like I said before it’s much more creative – you get the chance to have an input with what you’re doing. We had to create a business plan and a brand image for an electric car which was really good fun and you take a bit more pride in your work when you create it from scratch, so I really enjoyed that.

How do you think you’ve developed your employability at Loughborough?

All sorts of ways! I think the chance to volunteer through sport and not just sport but there’s so many volunteering opportunities from day one; it’s an experience that you can’t really explain until you’ve done it. It’s broadened my experience across everything in terms of employability, especially presenting, public speaking, getting involved as a course representative and things throughout the first 3 years.

What would you say to someone considering studying your course at Loughborough?

Do it, it’s been the most amazing 4 years ever, and just yeah just the whole experience as one is just it’s just an incredible place definitely.
