Dr Panagiotis Asimakopoulos BAc, MSc, PhD
Lecturer in Finance
Panagiotis joined Loughborough University’s School of Business and Economics in January 2017 as a Lecturer in Finance.
He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Piraeus, a MSc in Economics with specialization in Applied Economics and Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business and a BSc in Economics with specialization in Industrial Issues from the University of Piraeus.
He has previously held positions as an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance at Deree-The American College of Greece, School of Business, Accounting and Finance Division and as Teaching Fellow at University of Piraeus, School of Finance and Statistics, Department of Banking and Financial Management.
He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate finance and economic courses on topics such as: corporate finance, financial mathematics, mathematical economics, investment, financial modelling, and financial accounting.
My research interests principally concentrate on the area of Corporate Finance and more specifically to Payout Policy examining the dividend policy that firms follow, understanding the factors that influence dividend decisions and the manner in which these factors interact. Other primary areas of academic interest are Mergers and Acquisitions, Macro-finance.
