Dr Mohammed Rafiq BSc, Essex; MBA, PhD, Bradford

Reader in Retailing and Marketing

Mohammed is a Reader in Retailing and Marketing in the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University. Mohammed's current research interests include retailer own brands and perceptions of quality, internal marketing application, shopping centre marketing, store location, the modelling of store performance, retail assortment and store image, and internationalisation strategies of retailers.

Other areas of research include service quality, market orientation, innovation and new product development, research methodology, and ethnic entrepreneurship.

Mohammed’s research has appeared in a variety of outlets such as the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Services Marketing, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, Journal of Marketing Management and International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research, among others.

Currently, Mohammed serves as co-Editor of the European Journal of Innovation Management as well as reviewing on an ad-hoc basis for the European Journal of Marketing, International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research, Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, and the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Research.

In addition, Mohamed has published a number of books on the topics of internal marketing and retail management, edited Special Issues of the European Journal of Marketing and presented his work at numerous international conferences and meetings.
