Philip is Director of IT and E-Learning for the School of Business and Economics.
Philip provides co-ordination and leadership in the development and management of Information Technology and E-Learning to support teaching, research and administration across the School of Business and Economics.
Philip contributes to shaping the IT and e-learning policies of School of Business and Economics in the context of the wider strategic plans of School and University.
Philip's research interests include: how are business needs translated into successful IT solutions; how organisations successfully implement Virtual Learning Environments, focusing on the strategic drivers behind the decision to implement a VLE; how Business Schools implement distance learning and blended learning programmes in relation to the technology used to support students; and finally how innovation, technology and the use of e-Learning in higher education is being implemented within Business Schools.
Philip is a member of the British Computer Society, ALT-C and is actively involved with the European Distance and E-Learning Network.
