Anne joined Loughborough University in 2009 and has overall responsibility for the effective co-ordination and integration of administrative support functions within the School of Business and Economics.
Anne works closely with the senior management on both operational and strategic issues, being a member of key decision making committees; assisting with the development and implementation of the Departmental Development Plans; and providing leadership for support functions.
Her key responsibilities include:
- Collating and supplying management information for the Departments and developing systems for monitoring their progress against Development Plans
- Providing confidential staffing, finance and resourcing advice to the Heads of Department
- Implementing and maintaining a robust finance model for the Departments in support of strategic decision making and allocation of resources
- Managing annual operational budgets and implementing robust financial procedures for procurement and budgetary control
- Ensuring effective and efficient administrative systems are in place
- Leading and providing line management for support staff
- Ensuring that the Departments are represented on appropriate University administrative and technical committees, and liaising on behalf of the Departments with support sections of the University at a strategic level
- Planning and overseeing the allocation of space for offices, research and teaching
Before joining the university Anne was Head of Finance for a law firm for two years. Prior to this she spent fourteen years working for The Tussauds Group Ltd, a worldwide leisure attraction business. During this time she was Head of Risk Management for the Group and was responsible for setting up a Risk Management function. She also spent ten years at Alton Towers where she was Head of Finance for the park and hotels.
