Postgraduate Certificate in Management for Engineers
This qualification has been especially tailored for middle managers within the engineering construction sector. All learning is geared towards application in the real world and engineering related case studies and work based coursework assessment ensure maximum return on investment. Delegates who complete the Certificate are eligible to progress with credit onto The Loughborough MBA, our award-winning, AMBA accredited part-time MBA.
Programme Structure
The programme will consist of six modules each carrying a 10 credit weighting. These are;
- Business Economics
- Managing Human Resources
- Accounting for Managers
- Operations Management
- Marketing
- Project Management
All modules will run in one academic year with two entry points (February and September). Students may take more than one year to complete the programme but would be expected to take no longer than two years other than in exceptional circumstances. Regulations, quality mechanisms and standards will be the same as other similar programmes run by the School of Business and Economics, including The Loughborough MBA.
Delivery
Each module will be of four days duration, delivered as 2x2 days. Students will be taught the Certificate as a discreet cohort. Modules will match those already offered on The Loughborough MBA in terms of aims and objectives, learning outcomes and substantive content. However, each module will use some cases, examples and illustrations drawn from engineering and construction contexts.
Assessment is by exam (50%) and coursework (50%) for all modules excepting Project Management which is 100% coursework. The assessment regime directly mirrors that of The Loughborough MBA. Coursework assessment will include workplace based coursework and other engineering/construction context applications.
