CHaRM - Organisational Health and Safety Management

Research and consultancy in this area focuses on the assessment of health and safety management and the development of practical approaches to facilitate improvements in health and safety management and performance in a range of industrial organisations.

At the heart of successful health and safety management lies effective risk management, which is underpinned by risk assessment and risk control. There are three areas of control that can be employed:

These are the positive inputs to health and safety management, which are put in place to prevent the negative outputs (the failures). Continual improvement in health and safety management is about expanding the positive inputs to reduce the negative outputs.
