SBE academics and student chosen as finalists in the Loughborough University 2017 Enterprise Awards
Professors Gilberto Montibeller and L. Alberto Franco as well as student Charlotte Wise have been selected as finalists for this year’s university Enterprise Awards.
The Enterprise Awards is an annual celebration of academic and entrepreneurial excellence as well as the innovative research and creative focus of Loughborough University’s most inventive individuals.
Charlotte Wise, a final year International Business BSc student, has been chosen as a finalist in the Placement Student award for her internship with American Express. She joined American Express as an Analyst and established herself as an innovative and dedicated member of the team. Charlotte’s redesign of a tool used to create and build HTML emails in-house is now employed throughout the European offices, representing a multi-million pound saving over the coming five years.
Four categories make up the 2017 awards: Impact from Research, One to Watch, Graduate Enterprise and Placement Student.
Professor Gilberto Montibeller and Professor L. Alberto Franco; both professors of Management Science, have been nominated in the Impact from Research category for developing their risk management framework that facilitates timely decision-making for managing complex bio-security threats. The framework has recently been employed by DEFRA and the Pan-American Health Organisation to address and manage a range of similar challenges related to animal health threats.
Public vote closes on the 17th May. Read more about the finalists and how to vote here.
