Continential Cup winners the Nottingham Panthers make history

The Nottingham Panthers have made ice hockey history by becoming the first British team to win a major European tournament.

Having not gotten off to the best start of the season, the Panthers made an incredible comeback with a 4-1 victory over Continental Cup hosts Ritten in the final last weekend.

Five of the current Panthers players are studying on the Loughborough MBA programme; Brad Moran, Geoff Waugh, Jeff Dimmen, Dan Spang and Jeff Brown.

Andy Bayley, an Associate Lecturer who teaches on the programme, said of the MBA players:

They are five really genuine guys who take their studies extremely seriously and bring their natural sporting enthusiasm, commitment and drive into the classroom. A real pleasure being with them!

Congratulations to the team!
