Staff member Tracey Preston awarded 'Highly Commended Contribution to Postgraduate Life' Award
Tracey Preston, long-time staff member at the School, has received the Highly Commended Contribution to Postgraduate Life Award.
Tracey, currently a Research Administration Officer here at SBE, was the deserving winner of the award at the Inaugural PGR Awards Ceremony held on the 15th June. The awards were hosted at Loughborough University's Doctoral College and supported by the PGR President Team and Loughborough Students’ Union.
Students and staff across the University nominated individuals they thought deserved recognition, and over 120 nominations were received across the 9 awards categories. The panel of PGR representatives, Graduate School staff, LSU staff and academics had a tough job deliberating over some incredibly strong nominations.
Tracey was described by the panel as:
Being simply phenomenal, and someone who made doctoral researchers feel included in the academic community.
She was also recognised for her willingness to help and ability to understand students’ perspectives.
The event was a great opportunity to celebrate the academic and extra-curricular achievements of PGR students as well as staff that go the extra mile to support them.
Congratulations on a brilliant achievement, Tracey!
