Dr Cheryl Travers and Dr David Roberts were invited by TedXLoughboroughUniversity to give talks on their research, both of which are now available to watch online.

Dr Cheryl Travers' talk is called 'If you like it, then you should put a goal on it' and Dr David Roberts' talk is titled 'A visual feast of the mind'.

Dr Travers, Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, has worked with a wide range of managers, business leaders and students across industry sectors and levels, developing what she calls ‘Reflective Goal Setting’. Her talk was on goal setting and goal setting theory, of which she is a well-established expert, with a chapter in the classic Locke and Latham book, New Developments in Goal Setting and Task Performance.

Dr Roberts, Senior Lecturer in International Relations, spoke about the benefit of visual presentations. David’s research on imagery in teaching methods can be read in more detail in the forthcoming issue of Inspire magazine, the bi-annual magazine of the School of Business and Economics. David's main research focus is on peace-building in post-conflict areas, and he teaches undergraduate introductions to International Relations and Third World Politics.
