Sir Charles Bean on campus to discuss the UK's monetary policy
In this special public event, organised by the Centre for Post-crisis Finance, Sir Charles will reflect on some of the monetary policy innovations that took place as a result of the global financial crisis and offer an examination of the broader changes in the monetary policy framework that the crisis prompted.
Charlie Bean became Deputy Governor on 1 July 2008 (until June 2014). Prior to that, he was Executive Director and Chief Economist from 1 October 2000. In addition to his membership of the Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Policy Committee, he has specific responsibility within the Bank for Monetary Policy, including monetary analysis and market operations.
