Graduate Paul Oluikpe wins best paper award by Emerald Group Publishing
A graduate of Loughborough University’s Dept of Information Sciences (now Information Management in the SBE), Dr Paul Oluikpe’s paper “Developing a corporate knowledge management strategy”, published in the Journal of Knowledge Management (2012), has been selected as a winning paper in the prestigious Emerald Citations of Excellence for 2015.
Dr Louise Cooke, Programme Director of the MSc Information Management and Business Technology, was delighted and said:
This award is a very prestigious recognition of the importance of Paul’s work, and the relevance of the topic of corporate knowledge management strategy to today’s organisations. It is very pleasing to see one of our former MSc Information & Knowledge Management students taking his learning forward in this way and achieving such a highly acclaimed academic award.

Each year Emerald Group Publishing awards certificates to highly cited papers relating to the areas of Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics and Marketing – subjects in which Emerald itself has proudly published journals for nearly 50 years.
The selection process made by our own editorial experts is based initially on the citations being given to papers published in a previous year (in this case 2012), but our judging panel also take into account the content of the papers themselves in terms of novelty, interdisciplinary interest and relevancy in today’s world.
While high academic and research standards are a pre-requisite, these selections are of course ultimately subjective, but they are also a reflection of the high quality of work published in 2012.
