About this event

We (28+ Perspectives on Brexit) are a research team of five university academics, three academic consultants and two overseas partner institutions. We are funded by the ESRC with a 'Brexit priority grant' to look into a neglected aspect of the UK's negotiated withdrawal from the EU, namely the perspectives of the other EU member states, and the EU institutions themselves: what do they think and feel about Brexit? In particular, what does Brexit look like in countries where populist parties are knocking at the door of government (the Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy are our case studies)? Our funding encourages us to share our findings with UK stakeholders of all kinds and to learn from those stakeholders further questions that we should be asking in our research. Our next Brexit cafe will have an East Midlands focus, with the participation of Rt Hon Nicky Morgan. With the help of a professional facilitator and over canapés and refreshments, the team look forward to meeting you, hearing your views and sharing your thoughts on what Brexit means for the East Midlands.
