Melanie King is Head of Learning Technologies and Digital Innovation at Loughborough University and is undertaking a PhD by publications.

Having worked as a Learning Technologist at Loughborough University since 1997, Melanie has a background in application design and development as it applies to many areas from hands-on software development, research and evaluation to the design, delivery and management of information and support systems for staff and students at Loughborough University and beyond.

As Head of the Centre for Engineering and Design Education (2011-2016) she managed a highly successful team comprising technologists, educationalists, researchers and

students delivering enhancement projects locally and nationally through internal, research and enterprise income.

Her current research is concerned with the design, development and evaluation of complex technology and information systems and services (especially in academia). Including evaluation methodologies that are appropriate for digital processes, information architectures and linked programmes, strategies and policies.
