Autumn placement fair - Wednesday 9 November 2016

Each year we aim to run a placements event to put students in touch with employers. The aim of these events is to familiarise current students with the placements process, as well as giving you the opportunity to find out more about the application process, meet past placement students and find out about placement opportunities.

All our undergraduate degree programmes offer the option to take a placement year. Spending a year in industry enables you to gain graduate-level work experience with one or more organisations, over a twelve month period, as part of your degree.

A placement is a fantastic way to gain experience of a role in an industry or sector you're interested in. It is also a great opportunity to develop the skills and competencies sought by graduate recruiters, build contacts and improve your chances of securing a graduate level job. Research shows that students who undertake a placement tend to gain jobs with higher salaries upon graduation.

Our School of Science Placement Fair brings a number of top graduate employers on to campus. It is a chance for our students to find out about the range of placement opportunities that exist - perhaps with companies you have never even considered working for before.
