Loughborough University Sports Technology Institute is a £15M initiative in partnership with the East Midlands Development Agency to boost enterprise in the sport and leisure sector and develop cutting-edge technology to support future British champions.
It is home to the world's largest university-based sports technology research group, partnering leading brands for over 20 years. Part of the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, we study the engineering of a vast range of equipment, footwear and apparel in a wide range of sports under play and simulation conditions.
We welcome industrial R&D partnerships and have a strong track record of securing public and private sector funding (circa £1M p/a).
Our undergraduate BSc Sports Technology degree is now in its 8th year, with many graduates employed in companies such as adidas, Nike and Reebok.

Institute wins Technology and Innovation Award
At The Engineer's Technology and Innovation Awards ceromony, hosted by the Royal Society, the Sports Technology Institute picked up the award for University Support of Business - a category to recognise the ongoing contribution of a university, or group of universities, to the development of engineering and technology-based industrial partners.
