Research Involvement

CECA - Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly
The Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly is a new initiative funded by the Higher Education Innovation fund (HEIF), and in partnership with the Universities of Sheffield and Nottingham. The success of the UK’s manufacturing industries is crucial to the country's prosperity. CECA's objective is to work in partnership with leading companies to develop expertise in manufacturing assembly technologies and infrastructure support systems in order to provide a world class UK resource to support a diverse range of companies looking to manufacture products more efficiently, cheaper and faster.

IMCRC - Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre
The Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre at Loughborough University brings together a multi-disciplinary group of over 40 academic staff undertaking leading-edge collaborative research to enhance the processes, products, and competitiveness of the UK's manufacturing and construction industries. As the largest of the EPSRC centres its scope is wide, covering aspects of technology, business and organisational performance, and human factors.

SAMMIE - Computer Aided Ergonomics
SAMMIE CAD Limited was started in 1986 by the SAMMIE system originators to continue the consultancy work of the SAMMIE Research Group and to market and support the SAMMIE Computer Aided Ergonomics software tool across a broad range of industries. SAMMIE CAD has a global reputation for high quality, responsive, and innovative work and since its inception SAMMIE CAD Ltd. have conducted over 250 consultancy projects for some 80 companies from around the world including clients from most countries in Europe, North America, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Iran, and Botswana.

SUE - Sustainable Urban Environments
The AUNT-SUE project is made up of a multi-disciplinary team of leading researchers in transport and social inclusion. Our consortium brings together the transport and design expertise of London Metropolitan University, which coordinates the AUNT-SUE project, Loughborough University and University College London. Project partners include the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB), the London Borough of Camden and Hertfordshire County Council. Professional and practitioner collaborators include the RICS, Transport for London, First Group plc, Ford Motor Co., Davis Associates (Human Factors Design), the British Transport Police, local and passenger transport authorities and user groups across the UK.
