By rail
Regular Intercity services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns.London St Pancras is 90 minutes away.

Once at Loughborough's railway station you are just ten minutes away from the campus. On arriving at Loughborough there is a shuttle bus that runs to the University every 20 minutes - the Number 7 bus. You will alight at its last stop at Mechanical Engineering. Manufacturing Enginering is a large orange extension to Mechanical Engineering.

Taxis are normally available from the station. The journey to the university takes approximately 10 minutes and should cost around £4.

For information on train times and ticket prices phone Railtrack on +44 (0) 345 484950.

By car

If arriving by car, leave M1 at Junction 23 (not 23A) and head into Loughborough. Click for a local area map. The road becomes a dual carriageway. At the first roundabout take a right turn (towards the centrica/ campus) and then a left at the next roundabout into campus. There is a security gate there where you will be issued with a pass. Continue straight on, under a bridge and you will find yourself passing an orange building. Parking is at a premium in the car park behind this building; so at the end of the orange building turn right, following the road, up a steep hill. At the top of the hill the road takes you left - immediately on your right is a large car park. Retrace your route back down the hill and enter the orange building.

There is a main entrance - glass atrium/ stairway about half way along the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering block. On the first floor you will find the reception area.

e-medic
e-medic seeks to explore the technological and business potential of integrating advanced electronics and information technologies with improved drug formulations into non-invasive drug delivery devices, and their exploitation to maximum benefit in healthcare. A platform device is researched based upon a pulmonary delivery system that is flexible, programmable, and potentially will provide remote patient monitoring through a distributed healthcare information system.

Droplet Welding
This project focuses on the development of a lead-free joining technology using metal droplets. Technological developments must not overlook environmental health and safety concerns. Traditional joining methods have often used solders of Pb-Sn composition, which are now intended to be phased out. Thus, novel processing methods must be sought to overcome this problem and provide a cleaner more effective solution.
