Maths department ranked highly in latest National Student Survey

Loughborough University has finished Top 5 in the annual National Student Survey (NSS), securing one of its best ever results. This year’s figures see Loughborough rise three places from its 2014 finish, and rank as the top East Midlands university by some margin.

Our School of Science departments also ranked highly in this year’s survey, with the Department of Mathematical Sciences achieving 91% overall student satisfaction and ranked across the range of measures, including:

  • 4th for Organisation and Management
  • 6th for Learning Resources
  • 7th for Assessment and Feedback

Speaking about the results, Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said:

“Loughborough is committed to providing its students with a world class experience, and preparing them for life after University. In a year we were named University of the Year at the What Uni Student Choice Awards, and achieved 2nd in the THE Student Experience Survey, it is heartening to see these figures from the NSS, which show students are genuinely satisfied with the educational experiences and opportunities we are providing.”

The Department of Mathematical Sciences enjoys an excellent reputation for its industry connects and graduate employability.  DLHE 2014 figures show that 94% of Loughborough Maths graduates in employment were in professional/managerial roles within six months of leaving.
