Hundreds of people attended Loughborough University’s annual Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday 9th March, enjoying a fun packed afternoon of hands-on activities.

The fair kicked off the University’s programme of events for National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW). The week aims to celebrate science and engineering and their importance to our lives, giving people the chance to participate in science and engineering activities and experiments, and to engage in related discussions in their local area.

Event organiser Sian Williams said: “We are delighted so many people came along to the fair. It was a great success and the perfect way to demonstrate how science and engineering play such a crucial part in our everyday lives.

“I would like to thank the staff and students involved in the day and a special thank you goes to the pupils from De Lisle College and Humphrey Perkins School who ran their own activities at the fair.”‌At the fair people of all ages had the chance to take part in a number of interactive challenges, favourites from the event included using a giant Spirograph, walking on custard and stepping inside giant bubbles.
