Loughborough Professor organises international workshop in Dresden
Professor Uwe Thiele of Loughborough University, together with Professors Serafim Kalliadasis (Imperial College), Detlef Lohse (University of Twente) and Howard A Stone (Princeton University) have organised an international focus workshop at the Max Planck Institute for Physics and Complex systems in Dresden on October 28th through to November 1st 2012.
The event will bring together 70 mathematicians, natural scientists and engineers from 25 countries of Europe, Asia and the Americas, all of whom are experts in the field, to present and discuss recent advances in subjects related to the flow of complex liquids in situations where interfaces play an important role.
After the submission and evaluation of their proposal, Professor Thiele and his colleagues successfully gained funding to present their workshop at the event.
The workshops consist of scientific talks, an evening poster session and time for informal discussions. Participants will report on the latest experiments, theoretical advances and technological applications. For more information see the website.
