Richard Simkins
Sub Systems Integrator, Turbine Engineering, Rolls-Royce PLC
Materials Engineering BEng, Graduated 2001
Since graduating I have completed the Rolls-Royce Engineering training scheme, worked as a manufacturing engineer on single crystal castings, as a designer for turbine components, as a service engineer in an engine overhaul facility in Singapore and am currently a sub-system integrator in Turbines Engineering for new engines.
Joanne Haskins
Lead Design Engineer, MWH Global Consulting
Materials Engineering BEng, Graduated 2007
During my degree I went on placement with Thames Water investigating water pipe failures. Once I graduated, I went to work for the Water Operations team within Atkins, one of the largest engineering consultancy firms globally. I recently moved to MWH, who are ranked first in the "Top Global Firms Consultants File" 2010, performing a Lead Design Engineer role. I am currently working towards Chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers, who recognise my Materials Engineering Degree.
Robert Crow
Project Engineer, Materials Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover Centre for Research & Development
Materials Engineering BEng, Graduated 2003
After graduating I joined Jaguar’s Graduate Programme. After 2 years on the scheme I became a Senior Engineer in Materials Engineering working on the XK programme, amongst other projects. In 2008 I began in my current role developing and implementing new materials technologies for the Body Structure. One of the highlights of working at JLR is having the opportunity to make a key contribution to exciting new vehicle projects. My time at Loughborough was invaluable in preparing me for a career in Materials Engineering.
Amy Trotman de Roux
Business Development Manager, Power-On Systems Ltd
Design with Engineering Materials BSc, Graduated 2008
I started at Power On in the summer of 2008 straight after graduating and have been there since. My first role was as a Tendering Engineer. I designed electricity distribution networks for industrial/commercial/high-density residential sites, sourced quotes for the equipment needed, and put everything together to issue as a quotation. I am now a Business Development Manager where I contact and meet up with potential/existing customers to get new enquiries and orders into the business.
Phil Kosylo
Product Coordinator, Radius Systems Ltd
Design with Engineering Materials BSc, Graduated 2007
Since graduating I have completed a two year graduate engineering programme with Radius Systems, a manufacturer, supplier and innovator of polyethylene (PE) pipe systems and services. This included two long term placements; one in Production Engineering at one of our manufacturing sites and the other within the Innovation and Development department at our Derbyshire head office. In my current role I am the link between Innovation & Technology, Sales, Marketing and Operations, bringing new products and solutions to the market.
