Profile
Graduated from U.M.I.S.T. in 1982 with BSc.(Hons) in Textile and Colour Chemistry. Associate of the Society of Dyers and Colourists and a Chartered Colourist. Worked for 23 years in the textile dyeing and finishing industry, across knitted and woven fabrics, garments, yarns and carpets, in roles ranging from technical and production management, to research, new product development and marketing.
Specialist in the areas of process control and automation, colour measurement/assessment and control, and accurate colour reproduction and representation systems.
Current role of Graduate Development Officer encompasses a wide range of marketing activity in the department for undergraduate, postgraduate and research areas, including events, open days, publications, and web pages. Support for the postgraduate teaching area, especially for programme and module review and development and the enhancement of distance learning provision. Development and maintenance of links with industrial partners and alumni.
