Background
After completing his PhD in 1989, Mark worked for over 20 years as a Research Fellow in the School of Metallurgy and Materials at Birmingham University before joining Loughborough University to work on the ‘Whiskermit’ research programme. Mark’s research activities have focussed on establishing the relationship between processing parameters and material properties for a wide range of materials and applications, in particular powder metallurgy and hot isostatic processing.
