How to find us

S Building

Main line road and rail networks link Loughborough directly with the rest of the country and the town itself is served by excellent bus services.

Locating the department

The Department of Materials is located within S-Building which is situated on the West Park of the campus. Visit our campus map for more information about the Department's location.

The nearest car park to the Department is Car Park One, which is a large multi-storey with ample spaces. For drivers, a visitor parking permit and directions to the car park will be provided on arrival at the Security Gatehouse at the West Park entrance(shown below) or the main University entrance on Epinal Way.

By road

Loughborough University is less than two miles away from junction 23 of the M1 motorway.

By rail

London is one-and-a-half hours away by train, Birmingham one hour and Manchester and Leeds around two hours. Taxis are normally available from outside Loughborough train station and the journey should cost around £5-£6.

The University shuttlebus runs to and from Loughborough station every 20 minutes. Kinchbus Number 7 commences from Loughborough Railway station and brings you straight to campus. The stop you require is "Mechanical Engineering", which is also just a few yards from the entrance to Materials.

By air
