Description
This project is being led by Loughborough University and involves partners
from Bristol University, Canada and Australia.
The project has delivered:
- A study
of the use and effectiveness of PIAs in other countries, including recommendations
for best practice for possible adoption in the UK context.
- A comprehensive methodology for the conduct of effective
PIAs in the UK context, learning the lessons from experience elsewhere.
- A user friendly PIA Handbook for use by practitioners,
to guide them through the PIA process in line with relevant UK legislation.
The PIA Handbook was launched on 11 December 2007 at
the ICO’s Surveillance
Society conference.
