The Biblio.for.mEDA project focuses on the role of public libraries in lifelong learning.
The
aim of the project is to
compare and analyse best practice in the public library systems of the
participating countries in order to develop an organisational and training
model, which will promote the role of the librarian in the facilitation of
lifelong learning.
Dr. Anne Goulding from the Department of Information Science at Loughborough University leads the research in the UK. The Biblio.for.mEDA project (loosely translated from the Italian as libraries for the education of adults), part of the Leonardo da Vinci programme funded by the European Union, is a two-year project involving collaboration between partners in Italy, Cyprus, Hungary, Latvia, Romania and the UK.
