ASCAS (Acute Services Current Awareness Service) Project

Project Description: ASCAS (Acute Services Current Awareness Service) monitored over one hundred key websites and highlights new reports and guidelines relevant to the clinical information needs of specialist NHS staff. The project was funded by the Trent Workforce Development Confederation and is part of the Greenfield Medical Library Services, University of Nottingham. ASCAS is targeted at Clinician, Service Directors, Heads of Department, Training Directors, Consultants, Clinical Nurses, and also Medical Researchers. Subject areas covered by the service include, Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic and Allied Health, Nursing, New Reports and Guidelines, Research and Development, and Women and Children. An evaluation exercise was carried out by the Department of Information Science to assess the level of satisfaction of the service.
