Steve graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2001 with a degree in automotive engineering.
Whilst on university placement he worked as a Crash test engineer for Millbrook Proving ground, responsibilities included calibration and certification of sensors and analysis of subsequent data. Other roles included data acquisition and analysis of test vehicles which led to managing the development and design of components for the universities formula SAE race car.
In 2004, Steven joined the TSRC as an accident investigator to work on the UK CCIS project (Cooperative Crash Injury Study), The project provided Steve with a thorough understanding of real world accidents, accident investigation techniques and injury causation coding.
Steve has worked on a number of European projects including the Safetynet project as both a researcher and task leader for some work packages.
Steve has recently begun work in the field of naturalistic driving and field operational trials and is working towards both the completion of the European TeleFOT project and the formulation of a PhD based on this methodology.
