Personal profile
Neil received his PhD from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton on human vibration biomechanics.
Before coming to Loughborough he worked at the Swedish National Institute for Working Life, Umea, Sweden.
Research
Research Group: Environmental Ergonomics.
Interests
Human response to vibration and noise, and physical ergonomics.
Current research
- HAVTEC: Hand-arm vibration test centre, reducing risks in construction.
- CIRCIS: Collaboration in research, teaching in noise and vibration in India and Europe. Activity interference on trains.
- Efficacy of vibration therapies at reducing fall risk amongst vulnerable groups.
- Combined risk factors of poor postures and whole-body vibration.
- Long-term vibration discomfort. Multi-axis vibration assessment.
