A report for the Department for Transport, which demonstrates a model for collecting offence data for accident involved road users and presents initial police sourced data, collected in tandem to the On The Spot (OTS) accident investigation study.

A publication by the Department for Transport, summarizing the work by TSRC at Loughborough University and TRL to link offence history records to OTS road collision investigation data.
The road collisions occurred in Nottinghamshire and Thames Valley respectively. The TSRC were pleased to initiate this work and to produce this overview of findings on behalf of the Department for Transport.

UK On The Spot Accident Data Collection Study – Phase II Report
The On The Spot study was established to investigate causes of accidents and injuries by in-depth methods for all types of road user encountered at the scene. This report provides an update on the methodologies deployed for Phase II of the study from October 2003 to September 2006.
An overview of the database is provided together with updates on team activities, networking and key accident analysis studies that used the database that had grown to include 3,024 accidents.

UK On The Spot Accident Data Collection Study – Phase I Report
This report describes the development and implementation of the UK On The Spot Accident Data Collection Study. The study was funded by the Department for Transport and Highways Agency in order to make in-depth, expert accident investigations into the causes of accidents and injuries.
The report describes process required to establish the study together with the methodology used. Annexes to the report give information about the 1508 accidents investigated over Phase I of the study from .August 2000 to September 2003.
